To avoid the issue of potatoes overrunning your garden with the amount of space that they take up… consider growing them in containers!
To start a container, choose a container that is at least 14 inches deep with a 10 to 15 gallon capacity, but not much larger than that as it will become difficult to water it evenly. This container can be found in stores as a dedicated “grow bag,” but you can also make your own using a plastic burlap bag or by using landscape fabric to form a container. A diameter of 20 inches can be assumed to grow about 4 plants. Once you have your container figured out… it is time to start planting!
