With Labor Day having just past, it’s common to recognize the holiday as marking the end of summer, but fear not gardeners… a garden’s work never ends! In September, you can continue to collect bountiful harvests, preserve the food you pick for the winter, or start a root cellar.
September is also an important time to divide summer-blooming perennials, collect and store seeds, fertilize your lawn, plant shrubs and trees, and most excitingly… plant cool-season vegetables!
