Gardeneers work with Chicago’s South and Westside schools and communities to contribute positively to the larger food system. They do this by supporting youth in school garden and farm programs to build knowledge, skills, and habits to become self-sufficient. Since its establishment, Gardeneers has worked with over 1800 students, 19 schools, and 200 volunteers.
Maxwell Garden partners with Gardeneers at Smyth School for the weekly Madison’s Farmstand. Maxwell plants and grows vegetables in ten plots to donate to the Farmstand, in addition to other donations from gardeners throughout the season.
